Premium for Leather (Portugal)
Premium for Leather is the newest production site of the Brasport Group, located in Portugal. Designed with an approach focused on quality, agility, and responsibility, it integrates all production phases in-house. It embodies a new generation within the Brasport Group, combining innovation, expertise, and responsible commitment.
Prototype development:
– Act as the main technical point of contact for the client (major luxury brands)
– Interpret a plan/concept drawing for prototype development
– Produce prototypes in accordance with client specifications: shape, size, quality, and desired details
– Master self-inspection procedures to ensure prototype compliance
Material selection:
– Choose appropriate leathers, textiles, reinforcements, and other materials for each prototype, considering their physical properties
– Develop testing plans to ensure material compliance (Design / Durability)
– Research new suppliers
Manufacturing techniques:
– Use specialized tools and machines to cut, prepare, assemble, sew, and glue the different components
– Master leather goods–specific techniques/tools: setting rivets and hardware, hand stitching/machine stitching, applying dyes, and performing manual finishing
Prototype follow-up / Industrialization:
– Management of the development team
– Provide regular updates on prototype progress to the technical team
– Fine-tuning of prototypes and industrial transfer of projects
– Set up a workshop: machinery requirements and training
– Preparation of operating procedures and technical files
Required skills:
– Proven previous experience in leather goods
– Proficiency in Autocad and Mozart software
– Ability to work independently and transfer know-how to production teams
– Comfortable with all stages of the product lifecycle, from design to production
– Fluent in English and/or Portuguese
